The All Capable One

On my walk the other morning, a song “Gbogbonise” by artist named Pelumi Deborah came up on my play list. A few lines in the song says: The One who created the ears, cannot but hear. The One who created the eyes, cannot but see. My God is the creator of Heaven and Earth. How will my life be too big for Him to handle?

Later in the day I was reading Exodus 4 verse 11 where the Lord asks a very timid Moses thus; “Who gave human beings their mouth? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? – It appears the human anatomy was the agenda of the day. The Lord was simply reminding me about His Sovereignty. A truly great reminder, because a lot of the times we do forget.

Overwhelmed by the worries of this life. Choked in fear by what may happen next. Feelings of Inadequacy that cripple the persistent call to move forward. Nothing new from history: Moses and the other patriarchs experienced it too. It’s why God would appear to them time and time again reminding them who He is. And we ourselves need to move through life remembering who God is

So I pulled out all my list of concerns, worries, anxieties, fears and reminded every single one of them that God is Sovereign over what may or may not happen next. And I marvel at God’s gentleness in helping Moses see who God had created Him to be from the very beginning. That same gentleness God extends to you and I today until we catch up with the reality of who He has created us to be. Perhaps what your heart needs today is simply a reminder of Who God is!

God created ears. He created mouths. He created eyes. That person, people, place – you are afraid of, He created them too. He is the God of the entire Universe.
